Watch out, Toys Educational Use a Hazardous Substances

Indonesian Consumers Foundation found levels of hazardous materials on educational toys for children are marketed in supermarkets and traditional markets in five regions of Jakarta. YLKI test results found levels of substances hazardous to health such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromim on child educational toys such as the abacus, measuring blocks, puzzles, and trains.
In the long run, if the child often make physical contact with toys that contain hazardous substances that could potentially reduce the intelligence of children and cancer, as well paint a strong-smelling and brightly colored toys and basic materials, especially the easy peeling, containing hazardous substances. YLKI therefore urged parents not to drool advertising and the lure of cheap prices.
In addition the label shall contain the Indonesian language, YLKI urged the government to strictly conduct supervision over the circulation of educational toys containing hazardous substances are mostly imported from China and a number of local products
